We are seeking a Telecommunications Specialist for the Federal Emergency Management Agency Integrated Public Alert and Warning System  FEMA IPAWS. During an emergency, alert and warning officials need to provide the public with life-saving information quickly. IPAWS is a modernization and integration of the nation’s alert and warning infrastructure, and will save time when time matters most, protecting life and property.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Top Secret Clearance
  • 3-10 years' experience with a strong emphasis in HF/RF, SATCOM, and LOS with Engineering, technician, and operator skills.
  • Knowledgeable of and experienced with experience in SATCOM operations and maintenance, HF and LMR radio, shall be experienced with analysis, design, research and development, and implementation of testing terrestrial and wireless telecom systems and networks; and, 
  • Experience with general telephony applications skills i.e. ACU, JPS, and antenna installation and maintenance skills; no certification is required.
  • Ability to coordinate the delivery of multiple projects and dependencies being executed by other teams within NCP.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering life cycle and associated documentation (project plans, charters, business cases, requirements documents, test plans, reports, etc.)
